Iriun Webcam + OBS Studio: Low‑Latency Setup for Streaming
Add your phone camera to OBS Studio in minutes. For the lowest latency and the most stable image, use a USB cable. On Wi‑Fi, prefer 5GHz near the router.
Version: 2.9.5 • OS: Windows 11 / 10 • File:
IriunWebcam-2.9.5.exe
Tip: Open the Iriun app on your phone first, then launch the Iriun Windows app before starting OBS.
Add Iriun to OBS (step‑by‑step)
1) Start Iriun — Open Iriun on your phone, then on your PC. Confirm the phone and PC are connected (USB or same Wi‑Fi).
2) Create a source — In OBS, go to Sources → + → Video Capture Device → Create new.
3) Pick the device — Select Iriun Webcam in the Device list and click OK.
4) Set resolution & FPS — 1280×720 @30fps is a stable baseline. Try 1920×1080 if your connection is solid.
5) Reduce latency — In the source properties, disable buffering. Keep FPS at 30 for consistency.
6) Position & crop — Resize the source, hold Alt while dragging edges to crop, add filters if needed.
Recommended OBS settings
- Base/Output (Canvas) resolution: 1920×1080 or 1280×720 depending on your scene.
- FPS: 30fps recommended for stable phone capture; 60fps only if your setup handles it.
- Video Capture Device properties: Resolution/FPS Type → Custom; set resolution & FPS; disable buffering.
- Audio sync: Use a dedicated mic as your audio source; add Sync Offset in Advanced Audio Properties if needed.
- Performance: Close heavy apps, keep the phone plugged in, disable battery savers, lock phone focus/exposure.
